The keys to the Kingdom of God are revealed through God’s Word.
The Kingdom of God, also interchangeably called the kingdom of heaven, is God’s powerful ability manifested on earth. Things like supernatural help, provision, healing, and miracles are all part of God’s rule and reign we can bring to earth through our prayer life. Heaven has no lack, no sickness and no evil. Therefore we can bring these things to earth if the conditions of our life are right. Remember, everyone will spend eternity in heaven if we believe in Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection. However, we can experience a much better life here on earth if we are following God’s teachings. The prayer below tells us how to pray.
“This then, is how you should pray: Our Father who art in heaven. Holy is your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is done in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory now and forever Amen” (Matt 6:9-13 NIV)
We can participate in receiving this powerful reality here on earth by listening to a sermon or studying the Bible. In those times, we are hearing the Truth also known as God’s Word. After hearing Scripture we will come to understand that the only way to live, is to surrender to Christ. This then, puts us in position to receive God’s conditional blessings.
“If you wish to enter into life, keep the Commandments.” (Matt 19:17b)
The Good News found in the New Testament, tells us that Jesus defeated Satan at the cross. Therefore since Jesus Christ defeated death, and we surrender to Christ, we are spiritually positioned “in Christ” and when we pray, it’s as if Jesus was saying the prayer. He gave His followers this power.
“I have given you the keys to the kingdom, whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven. Whatever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)
Those that do not go to church or read the Bible are missing out on the Kingdom of God and it’s supernatural power. They rely on their fallible intellect to determine issues of life and faith.
God is perfect in every way, therefore His wisdom and direction are unchanging and powerful.
“God is not human that He should lie. Not a human being that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and then not fulfill?”(Numbers 23:19)
When Jesus was on earth many people debated about who He was. Many used their intellect to determine the truth. However one apostle, Simon, used wisdom received from God.
Jesus asked Simon “Who do people say that I am?
Simon answered: “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” This secular crowd relied on intellect rather than faith to determine if Jesus was the Christ. Jesus then turned to Simon and asked:
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matt 16:15-19 NIV)
Simon’s knowledge came from God the Father in heaven. This is called revelation knowledge. This supernatural knowledge is when a fact is revealed to us but we didn’t learn it in the natural world. Jesus told Simon that God’s wisdom given to His followers would be the foundation of His powerful church. Revelation knowledge is so powerful that we can use it to overcome all negative situations. But reading the Word should be a lifelong “degree” we are attempting to earn.
The key to the kingdom of God, is speaking only what Jesus taught so as to loose the kingdom of heaven (blessings) into our life. We bind Satan- rendering his tactics useless- by holding our tongue and not agreeing with the purported negative situation. By speaking faith filled words we close the “door” to Satan and allow those verses of Scripture that pertain to our life situation to manifest in our life.
Remember in the verses above, when Jesus said “And the gates of hell will not overcome it” This means His congregation of believers will have the tools to keep Satan from overpowering them.
When we verbalize a fatal illness for instance, we are solidifying that we have it. If we don’t follow the “I have cancer” statement with some words found in the Bible, Satan has the ability to keep the illness on us. Even Jesus had to fight off Satan by stating “It is Written”…(see Matt 4:4-6) This conversation between Satan and Jesus, found in the book of Matthew, teaches us that Scripture should be used against our life issues. When we are sick, we can use a verse such as the one below and remember to not contradict our statement of faith with owning the disease. Keep professing Scripture over your life until it is seen in the physical.
“The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.”(Psalm 41:3)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”(Prov 18:21)
Memorizing and agreeing with Jesus will bind Satan from completely destroying aspects of our lives.
Spending time studying the Bible to find out these amazing truths, will solidify your faith, improve your life and lessen the problems and the length of your problems.
“Bless the LORD, all His angels mighty in strength who carry out His word, who hearken to the voice of His command.”(Psalm 103:20)
The angels in heaven respond to God’s Word spoken by those who trust in Jesus for their salvation.
“Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.”(Heb 1:14)
Angels are the change agents used by God to carry out the Word of God. Continue to confess a victorious battle and refuse to speak words that negate your faith.
In conclusion, the key to the Kingdom of God is to use the Word against Satan’s lies. Nothing can defeat us when we are obedient to the teachings in the Bible and use Words of Scripture.
