Salvation Is Activated Through Our Words

Salvation is twofold: daily salvation and eternal salvation, and both are activated through the power of our words. The Bible teaches us in Romans 10:9-10 (NIV): “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” This powerful passage demonstrates that salvation begins with both faith and confession.

The Power of Words in Salvation

The Bible emphasizes the incredible power of our words in shaping our lives. In John 15:7, Jesus says, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Abiding in Christ means meditating on His Word, memorizing it, and using a verse to pray that particular circumstance into our lives. The spoken Word of God holds divine power that can change circumstances. Many people speak what they currently have in their lives. “Thou art snared by the words of thy mouth.” (Prov 6:2)They focus on their illness and the side effect of medications and in effect agree with Satan. Jesus beat Satan at the cross therefore anything aligned with Satan: poverty, sickness and spiritual death is overcome already. All we need to do is pray it down from heaven. And we know that the Lord hears those in rightstanding with Him. “We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.”(John 9:31 NIV)

Reciting God’s Word: Unlocking Divine Power

Speaking the Scriptures is more than just reciting words; it’s declaring the inspired Word of God, which is full of divine power. John 1:1-2 tells us, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

God’s Word is not simply a set of instructions—it is divine and transformational. The power of God’s Word becomes effective when we believe it in our hearts, follow it and speak it out loud, bringing Jesus into our situations. The Bible states:

However, the key is belief. You can memorize Scripture and recite it, but until the Word is planted in your heart through faith, it will not bear fruit. How do we increase our belief or faith? By immersing ourselves in God’s Word daily, allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal deeper meanings and truths.

Daily Salvation Through Memorization and Belief

Daily salvation is not only a matter of belief—it also involves memorizing and speaking God’s Word. Many people have memorized Psalm 23 and recite it regularly, which is a powerful practice. When we speak God’s Word, we activate His promises and are lead to further obedience. Obedience brings blessings. Here’s the well-known passage from Psalm 23:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Notice the last verse: “I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” This verse teaches us that by following Him it will be as if we live in the same house as He is and can ask Him for anything and He hears us. Psalm 84:4 adds: “Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.” Abiding with God means continually following Him, praising Him, and trusting Him through all circumstances.

To Dwell With God: Daily Salvation Through Obedience

To truly dwell with God is to live according to His Word. In John 14:23, Jesus promises, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my words. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” This verse speaks of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to live in obedience. When God’s presence is within us, how can we be denied? Since we hear Him clearly due to His close proximity, we are being obedient to His perfect way and thus are blessed. Our prayers for deliverance from life’s challenges, will be answered in God’s perfect way.

Romans 8:28 reassures us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” As we meditate on God’s Word, obey it, and speak it, we position ourselves to overcome life’s obstacles, big or small.

Daily Salvation Comes Through Surrender

Daily salvation isn’t just a matter of prayer—it’s a result of surrender to the will of God. This is a critical point: not everyone will overcome their daily struggles. It’s only when a believer decides to surrender their will to Jesus, follow His teachings, and live in obedience, that they experience the victory over life’s problems.

Many will enter heaven through their confession of faith in Jesus Christ. However, these same believers may struggle with daily challenges because they choose not to fully obey the Lord. This reality presents a choice: obedience leads to victory over life and death, while faith alone secures victory over death alone.

The Choice: Obedience or Faith Alone?

This is no small decision. We face a choice every day: we can choose obedience and experience daily salvation which is victory over our problems. Or we can choose faith alone, which secures our eternal salvation in heaven. The key to overcoming life’s struggles lies in obedience to God’s Word which closes the door to Satan’s attacks. This act of shutting out Satan gives us salvation over daily problems.
