Unashamed Belief In Jesus

Unashamed belief in Jesus Christ is becoming increasingly rare among Christians in today’s secular world. I don’t know about you, but for years, I called myself a Christian without confidently declaring my unwavering faith in Jesus and His power. Even now, I sometimes shrink back from sharing God with people who desperately need Him. Fear tempts many of us to live as closet Christians.
But Paul boldly declared:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…”(Romans 1:16, ESV)

The Gospel Is Power

The Gospel is not just a message—it’s power and this is nothing to be ashamed of. It is the Good News that through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we receive forgiveness, transformation, and authority. When we read the Word, we are taking Christ into our hearts. The more of Christ we carry, the stronger our faith becomes. This is what makes our prayers powerful.

The Good News is that Jesus’ sacrifice offers not just eternal life, but the opportunity to experience heaven on earth. If we fully surrender to Christ and walk in His ways, our lives become reflections of His Kingdom.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10, ESV)

Unashamed That Jesus Saves Daily

Salvation is twofold. First, and most important is salvation for eternity when we believe in Jesus’ Christ. Salvation for our problems is about how to use the Bible to pray our needs to earth. This means that we can access the power of the Holy Spirit daily through our prayers. Our biggest challange is to stop depending on what we see and start trusting in our scripture based prayer requests. This way our fear dissolves and our strength increases. This act of standing on God’s Word glorifies Him and we will see our prayers answered.

John reminds us that: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (John 15:7–8, NIV)

No One Is Too Far Gone

Even those who feel they are too far gone, can become joyful followers of Christ and enjoy a powerful prayer life. God’s love extends to everyone—from the newborn to even the worst offender. God created each of us. He knows our potential, our struggles, and the reasons behind our actions. That’s why He invites us to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus and renewed through His Word.

From Saul to Paul: A Model of Transformation

Paul is the perfect example of transformation. Once a violent persecutor of Christians, Paul had a divine encounter on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1–9). Blinded and humbled, he received a new purpose and a new identity. He became one of the boldest proclaimers of the Gospel.
Paul wrote 13 books in the New Testament, and each one brings glory to God. His life was radically redirected from opposing God to drawing others to Him. This is our calling too. Once we see God work in a miraculous way in our life it is imperative to realize that He desires a relationship with us. This involves prayer, quiet time and study of Scripture on a consistent basis. In doing this, we will enjoy more answered prayers and miraculous happenings in our life. This will increase our faith and bring attention and glory to our wonderful heavenly Father.

The Rod of God: Scripture

In the Old Testament God was moving His people out of slavery in Egypt by a cloud during the day and a fire in the sky by night. At one point they were closed in with mountains on the right and the left and the red sea in front of them. The Egyptians were coming behind them thinking they were “done for.” But God told Moses, lift up your rod over the water and see the salvation of the Lord. As Moses listened and obeyed God’s voice, a pathway parted the Red Sea long enough to get this mass of humanity across and then closed up on the entire Egyptian army who were following close behind. (btw there is evidence at the bottom of the sea of chariot wheels covered with coral reefs to this day!)

When we have an insurmountable mountain in front of us our job is to also listen to the words of our Lord and do what it says. This is our rod of God that will move our problems out of the way if we do not give up and stop praying!
“Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.” (Exodus 14:13)

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

For instance, if you have a child who is going off course and you are worried the wrong people are influencing them. Find Scripture such as:

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:17)

If you are in right standing with God and faithfully living according to all you’ve learned from the Bible up to this point, this prayer carries great power. No weapon formed by the enemy, and no temptation set by Satan, can succeed in keeping your child in a life of debauchery, because your children are part of your life. I personally change the words to “No weapon formed against my family will prosper in Christ Jesus.”

In Christ- What This Means

To be “in Christ” means our lives are hidden in Him—we have accepted that Jesus came to earth, died for our sins, and rose again. His shed blood was necessary to cleanse us, giving us the right to stand before God in a spiritual sense and ask for something. In order to remain in this cleansed state, we daily seek forgiveness for both known and unknown sins, inviting the Holy Spirit to empower us to turn from them completely. This desire to live in alignment with Christ’s teachings is a position of strength—we are covered by His blood, protected from enduring evil, and equipped through prayer to overcome life’s challenges in many times, miraculous ways! The key? Use Scripture like a weapon. Find a verse that speaks directly to your struggle, and pray it back to God. This is the act of being saved daily.
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

Salvation in Daily Life

Biblical stories like the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43–48), the paralytic at Bethesda (John 5:1–9), and the ten lepers (Luke 17:11–19) remind us that God shows no partiality (Romans 2:11). If He helped them, He’ll help us. But faith requires endurance. Will we trust God even when our problems seem overwhelming? Will we obey and confess Scripture over our situation, even when things look impossible?
“Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12)

Jesus has already done everything necessary to make our life full of power- now it’s up to us. We must work to study Scripture, ask the Holy Spirit to interpret it for us and use it as a tool to overcome relational, health, financial and all issues of life.

The Gospel is salvation for eternity and powerful assistance for today. Satan is the enemy, but the Word is our weapon. Don’t be ashamed of this truth—it is the power of God for all who believe.

“The kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)
