Welcome to My Blog
Christian books are the only books worth reading, except for the Bible-but where does one start? I have read several of them but the books listed below are full of wisdom. They are sound biblically, and teach practical lessons.
The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible (The New American Standard Bible or NASB)
Life Application Study Bible by Tyndale (New Living Translation or NLT)
The 21 Most Effective Prayers Of The Bible by Dave Early
Streams In The Desert 366 daily devotional readings by L.B. Cowman
How To Let God Solve Your Problems 12 Keys To Finding Clear Guidance In Life’s Trials by Charles F. Stanley
Game Plan For Life – Your Personal Playbook for Success by Joe Gibbs (3-time Super bowl Champion, and 3 time NASCAR Champion)
Healing Prayer On Holy Ground, A Cardiologist Discovers God’s Presence In The Lives of His Patients by Mark W. Sheehan M.D. with Chris Sheehan
If – Trading Your “If Only” Regrets for God’s “What If” Possibilities by Mark Batterson
The Purpose Driven Life – What On Earth Am I Here For? by Rick Warren
Whatever The Cost – Facing Your Fears, Dying To Your Dreams, and Living Powerfully by David and Jason Benham
Right and Wrong Thinking by Kenneth E. Hagin
While you read these Christian books I encourage you to underline thoughts that touch that your heart. It’s nice to flip through your books at a later date to read what was underlined. It allows you to remember what you have learned in the past and realize just how far you have come in your walk with the Lord.
I also encourage you to re- read a book that was highly meaningful to you. A second pass through a book may illuminate more wisdom or build on what you already know. A sentence or thought that you didn’t understand/underline the first time around, may “jump off the page” at you as you read the book again.
The goal is to know the Word and lessons in the bible so well you can teach your children. We cannot waste our wisdom, it must be passed on so that the next generation can be “mighty in the land.”
“Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.”(Ps 112:2)
Food For Thought,
